The WeihnachtsZauber Gendarmenmarkt 2023 awaits you from November 27 to December 31 on the Bebelplatz, located between the State Opera and the Law Faculty of Humboldt University in the center of Berlin.
2. Is the monument commemorating the book burning of May 10, 1933 on Bebelplatz accessible during market hours?
Yes, the memorial can be visited at any time. Please ask our staff at the entrance who will be happy to help you.
3. What are the opening hours?
Our market welcomes you from 11 am to 10 pm, on Fridays and Saturdays even until 11 pm and on New Year's Eve we celebrate until 1:00 am.
4. How do I reach the market by public transport?
For your visit you can use the subway lines U5 and U6 (stop Unter den Linden), the bus 100 or 300 (stop Staatsoper) or the subway line U2 (stop Hausvogteiplatz) as well as the bus 147 (stop Werderscher Markt).
5. Are there parking facilities nearby?
The underground parking garage at the Staatsoper is available in the immediate vicinity. Access is via Behrenstraße.
6. May I bring my dog with me?
In principle, dogs are not allowed, with the exception of necessary assistance dogs such as guide dogs. Please carry appropriate identification for this purpose.
7. What am I not allowed to bring to the market?
Please refrain from bringing racist, xenophobic or radical propaganda material, weapons of any kind, pyrotechnic objects, containers made of fragile or splintering material, as well as food and drinks, animals (with the exception of guide dogs), and backpacks or bags with more than 15 liters of content onto the premises. Furthermore, recording devices for sound or image for the purpose of commercial use are also not allowed without prior permission from us.
8. How big can my backpack be?
Backpacks and bags may have a maximum capacity of 15 liters or the size of a DIN A4 sheet of paper.
9. Is there a luggage storage?
We ask for your understanding that there is no luggage storage available.
10. Do I have to pay admission?
Yes, except on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., when admission is free (except 24./25./26.12.). Children under 12 and people with disabilities are always admitted free of charge.
11. How is the entrance fee used?
With the entrance fee you support the artistic program of the event, social projects in the district of Berlin Mitte, the summer camp with 30 children of the Anna Lindh School, the decoration of the Christmas Market and contribute to your own safety during your stay.
12. Can I pay by debit card or digitally?
Yes, payment by card is possible (however, admission can only be paid in cash), but a fee may apply. We recommend that you always ask before making a purchase. Not every exhibitor accepts cashless payment.
13. Can I buy tickets online?
Yes, tickets can be purchased online HERE. Please be aware of the applicable advance purchase fee.
14. Are there group rates?
No, we do not currently offer special group rates.
15. How can I purchase tickets for a group?
Larger number of tickets can also be purchased through our online shop. You will receive the tickets as individual PDF files.
16. Is there a new year's eve party?
Yes, we are hosting a New Year's Eve celebration. You can find more information about it HERE.
17. Are there special tickets for the new year's eve party?
You can purchase our New Year's Eve celebration ticket with a special evening pass for €10, plus advance booking fees, through our online shop or on our New Year's Eve page. Until 7:00 PM, you can also visit the Christmas market with our day tickets.
18. Are there special offers for children?
No, there are no special offers for children. However, the stage program is child-friendly.
19. Can I visit the market with a wheelchair?
Yes, our market is wheelchair accessible.
20. Are there barrier-free toilets?
Yes, we offer barrier-free toilets. You can find them in the regular restroom area, there is also a changing table there.
21. Can I reserve seats in the restaurants?
