Safety at WeihnachtsZauber Gendarmenmarkt 2025
We are very pleased to return to the historic Gendarmenmarkt this year. The safety of our guests, exhibitors, and staff is our top priority.
We are proud that, according to a 2019 survey by Dr. Katharina Karcher of the University of Birmingham, our Christmas market was rated one of the safest in Europe. To continue ensuring the safe and smooth running of our event, we are in regular and close contact with the relevant offices and authorities, including Police Directorate 57 Berlin-Mitte and the Berlin State Criminal Police Office.

In cooperation with STS GmbH, we have developed a comprehensive security concept. This year, we will again use video surveillance at all four entrances to better manage visitor flows and respond more quickly to potential risks.
Access to WeihnachtsZauber Gendarmenmarkt is via four controlled entry points. Our trained security and admissions staff will also conduct person and bag checks as required—similar to major events. We therefore ask that you bring only small bags or backpacks where possible.
